Three Christmas Crafts

Merry Christmas, y'all! I cannot believe we're nearing my favorite holiday! My family has more traditions for this season than we do any other time of year, and I have a hard time picking a a favorite! I will say that making Christmas crafts as gifts for family, friends, and neighbors is pretty fun. Today I'm gonna share three of my favorite crafts from this year: Christmas Spice Potpourri, Snowman Candle Holders, and Christmas Cards.

    1. Christmas Spice Potpourri

For this super easy project, all you need is a handful of cranberries, three cinnamon sticks, two whole nutmeg, a palmful of whole cloves, three oranges, pine needles, and a plastic gift bag with a tie. Alternatively, you can buy these ingredients in bulk and make several gift bags instead of just one. You can even make cute gift tags like the ones I designed!

If you're making them as gifts (or if you want to make some for yourself), you'll want to give instructions for how to simmer. Here they are: Slice the oranges, and dump all the ingredients in a pot with a cup or two of water. Add more water daily, as the simmering evaporates the water. Put the pot on the stove, and heat on low. Leave it running as long as you desire to create a fragrant Christmas aroma!

    2. Snowman Candle Holders

These cuties are also easy to make, as all you need are a few paintbrushes, white paint, black, green or red paint, orange paint, and paintable wooden candle holders. I painted the entire bottom half white, and the top half black. Then I painted the eyes (with black), the nose (with orange), and the scarves (one with red and one with green). There are plenty of unique designs you can do with these snowmen, like multi-colored scarves or goofy faces! The possibilities are endless!

    3. Christmas Cards

One of my favorite hobbies is card-making. I've hand-painted cards, made matching card/envelope sets out of scrapbooking paper, and even crafted pop-up cards! Of course, Christmas is the best time of year for making cards. Last year, all of my cards were made from Christmas scrapbooking paper with matching envelopes. While they turned out beautiful (Hobby Lobby has the best Christmas paper in the world!!!), they were too time consuming to repeat this year. Instead, I used blank brown paper cards/envelopes (pre-made and purchased from Hobby Lobby) and decorated them with hand lettering, stamps, wax seals, and washy tape (all purchased from Hobby Lobby, of course)! The only limit is your imagination! Below I included some photos of some of my favorite designs.

This card was probably my favorite, as I used wax seals to create an ornament design!

This is what I did for the envelopes :)

With Christmas Love,

Alyssa
