First Day of Fall!

My sister and I a few years ago. I know you can't really tell by my weirdo smile, but I am excited in this photo! |
Happy fall, y'all! Today officially begins my favorite time of year! I'm extremely excited! 🍂😄 Fall and winter (through December) bring me joy. I adore the cool, fresh air that comes here around October.
With the start of a new season, I am reminded of Ecclesiastes 3:1, which reads "There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven." There is a season for everything, and right now it is a season of joy in my house!
I probably should be more of a summer person, because I live in the Lowcountry, where it's hot and humid more often than not. However, every year I try to love summer, but that effort lasts about three weeks, then I'm ready for fall. So now, I can finally be excited about fall without feeling guilty about it!
One of my favorite parts of autumn is that we go on an annual trip to the mountains of North Carolina, near where my mom grew up. We normally go in October, when the leaves in NC are the most breathtaking shades of red, yellow, and orange. I can't wait!
Another of my favorite parts of this season is my little brother's October birthday. My dad, my sister, one of my brothers, one of my cousins, and I all have August birthdays, so my other brother gets discouraged. However, he knows that he has the whole month of October to himself, so he loves fall and it brings him much joy!
I'm hoping and praying that we'll have cool weather soon!
With His Love,
Alyssa Wells

Yes it’s the most wonderful time of year.🍁
ReplyDeleteI know that the song 'It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year' is technically a Christmas song, but I listen to it starting in October, because to me the most wonderful time of the year starts when Fall starts, and ends after Christmas. And, there is a line that says 'There'll be scary ghost stories.' (I know it's followed immediately by something Christmasy, but let's dwell on the Octoberish reference.) :)
