Litchfield- Intro and Day One

    Last week, my family took a vacation to Litchfield Beach! I kept a digital journal on the trip, and I'm attaching the entries for y'all here. 


DAY ONE~


    We arrived at Litchfield! The car ride was only a few hours long and other than asking if we were there yet every ten minutes, the boys did pretty well. We stopped only for lunch. 

    When we arrived at the guest check in spot at about 3:30ish, we were told that our room wasn’t ready and check in wasn’t until 4. So we walked around for a little bit and grabbed Starbucks. 

    Our condo is so cute! We have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. My dad and brothers share a room and my mom, sister, and I share one as well. 

    Before dinner, everyone except for my mom journeyed to the miniature ‘water park’ near the condo. There’s a kiddie splash pad, a lazy river, two jacuzzis, and a normal swimming pool. The boys had a blast! They didn’t want to leave! 

    For dinner, my mom cooked delicious tacos. After the boys were put to bed at 7:30ish, the rest of us stayed up until 10 watching a movie. (I also ate keto ice cream)

    Overall, today was a great first day!!

Word of the Year Reflection

     Tomorrow is the last day of 2023, so recently I've been reflecting on my spiritual growth this year, especially in the area of surrender, as that was my word of the year. Here is what I learned:     1. Surrender is one thing I never should stop working on. I will never be perfect at giving my desires to God and opening myself to His will. Every single day I need to remind myself that the temptation to be a control-freak is real and strong, but I need to combat it diligently.      2. I definitely grew in the area of surrender. God has shown me His will in several different areas in my life, and I learned that when I obey Him, He fills me with His perfect peace.      I'm so thankful for the past year and the growth I've experienced. Valentine's Day and a Quick Life Update

    Hi y'all! Happy Valentine's Day! It's been a while since I posted a life update, but I've been soooooooooo busy! My senior year is coming along well, and in just 100 days I'll be on that stage receiving my diploma! So crazy and exciting! There are also new developments in the book I've been writing, as well as an incredible opportunity to serve God this summer. Finally, I have some exciting news about college, so keep on reading!           So far all of my graduation and senior party planning has been simpler than I thought. I was voted senior representative/coordinator for my class, which basically means I'm in charge of communicating dates and deadlines to members of the class. Not everybody has cooperated well, but most have so I'm counting that a success. Today I recorded my audio speech for the actual graduation. Tomorrow I plan to meet with our senior pastor for an accountability meeting. Looking forward to that!      Back...

Happy New Year and Word of the Year!

     Patience. The Cambridge Dictionary defines it best, in my opinion. According to this English dictionary, patience is "the ability to wait, or continue doing something despite difficulties, or to suffer without complaining or becoming annoyed." The Bible says that when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we will demonstrate patience. Yikes. I know and have always known that patience is not my forte, but I also have always been scared to pray for patience. When you pray for patience, God will definitely give it to you, often through allowing you to go through plenty of patience-testing situations to help you practice. My sister and I often joke when we're stuck behind a slow driver or have every single stoplight turn red when we approach it that one of us must have prayed for patience.
