Litchfield- Day Two and Three

DAY TWO~
The alligator we saw.

Adorable turtles at the pond.

Some flowers I saw while we waited for the shuttle.

The beach.

The 'water park.'

Today was the second day at Litchfield! Right after breakfast, my whole family decided to spend the morning at the ‘water park.’ We all put on our swimsuits, gathered towels and toys, and headed to our destination. This was at 9:30. We didn’t realize until we arrived that the pool area doesn’t open until 10. Oops! So we walked around the lake near the pool area while we waited. That’s when we saw the alligator!

Once the pool opened, we hung out until lunchtime. Then, after a rest hour, we took a shuttle down to the beach. We were grateful for the refreshing breeze. After about 30 minutes, we decided that we wanted to head back to the condo. We sat waiting for the shuttle for fifty minutes. The shuttle, which was supposed to run every 30 minutes, never showed up. After about 40 minutes of waiting, we sent my dad to walk back to the condo to pick up our car and drive it back to beach, which was about a mile from the condo. We were thankful that he was willing to do that, because by then there was no breeze, and we all were convinced that we would melt. (Maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it was hot.)

For dinner, we had spaghetti! And once the boys were down to bed, we ate ice cream and watched a movie. Overall, today was great!

DAY THREE~

One of the sharks from the shark tunnel.

One of the penguins from Ripley's 'Penguin Playground.'

My lunch from Hard Rock Cafe.

Today was the final full day at Litchfield! To wrap up our fun-filled trip, we spent most of the day at Myrtle Beach’s Broadway on the Beach.

Our first stop there was Ripley’s Aquarium. The boys love fish so this was the highlight of their day. They also purchased toy guns that look like sharks with birthday money. Annie Grace collects key ring charms, and she purchased a dolphin charm.

We walked around some of the stores at Broadway on the Beach, but we didn’t buy anything. By 11:30ish, we were hungry and sweaty. However, our lunch reservations weren’t until 12, so we waited thirty minutes outside in the heat. When we finally were allowed in the restaurant, we were all grateful to be in the air conditioning!

The restaurant was the Hard Rock Cafe, and the food was delicious! They had a mini store inside the restaurant, and Annie bought a charm for her collection.

After lunch, we headed back to the condo so we could all spend the afternoon at the pool area. My brother, Kenan, made a friend yesterday, and that friend was there again today. The boys enjoyed playing with him, even though he’s much older than they are.

For dinner, we tried to empty out the fridge. We had leftovers from throughout the week.

This has been a most enjoyable vacation! I’m sad it’s over, but I am also glad to get back into a normal routine. Our next vacation is in October, and I’ll make sure to post about it!

With His Love,

Alyssa

    1. We made several memories! My brothers are 4, and don't adore traveling, but they loved this trip! Myrtle Beach has a number of tourist attractions, and was a great travel destination.
