Book Release!

Image
The book tells the story of a young dancer.     For those of you who have read my first blog post, you might remember that I said I published a book a few years ago. I also mentioned that I was in the process of publishing a second book. Well, it is now officially available on Amazon!  Here is the link!     The book is titled 'What True Friends Are For,' and follows the story of twelve-year old Sadie Smith. Sadie is a ballerina who has always wanted to be just like Anna Pavlova, the renowned Russian dancer. She is told that making the studio's competition team is the first step, so she auditions. She doesn't receive the result she was hoping for, but finds out that she can try again on another day. Unfortunately, that day is the same day as her annual shopping spree with her best friend, Ruthie Chapman. Sadie is forced to make a decision that could ruin her friendship or her chances of being on the competition team.  This book also has some Christian...

Litchfield- Day Two and Three

Image
DAY TWO ~ The alligator we saw. Adorable turtles at the pond. Some flowers I saw while we waited for the shuttle. The beach. The 'water park.'      Today was the second day at Litchfield! Right after breakfast, my whole family decided to spend the morning at the ‘water park.’ We all put on our swimsuits, gathered towels and toys, and headed to our destination. This was at 9:30. We didn’t realize until we arrived that the pool area doesn’t open until 10. Oops! So we walked around the lake near the pool area while we waited. That’s when we saw the alligator!        Once the pool opened, we hung out until lunchtime. Then, after a rest hour, we took a shuttle down to the beach. We were grateful for the refreshing breeze. After about 30 minutes, we decided that we wanted to head back to the condo. We sat waiting for the shuttle for fifty minutes. The shuttle, which was supposed to run every 30 minutes, never showed up. After about 40 minutes of waiting, we ...

Litchfield- Intro and Day One

Image
Last week, my family took a vacation to Litchfield Beach! I kept a digital journal on the trip, and I'm attaching the entries for y'all here.  DAY ONE~      We arrived at Litchfield! The car ride was only a few hours long and other than asking if we were there yet every ten minutes, the boys did pretty well. We stopped only for lunch.        When we arrived at the guest check in spot at about 3:30ish, we were told that our room wasn’t ready and check in wasn’t until 4. So we walked around for a little bit and grabbed Starbucks.        Our condo is so cute! We have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. My dad and brothers share a room and my mom, sister, and I share one as well.        Before dinner, everyone except for my mom journeyed to the miniature ‘water park’ near the condo. There’s a kiddie splash pad, a lazy river, two jacuzzis, and a normal swimming pool. The boys had a blast! They did...

Sweet Sixteen!

Today is my birthday! I'm 16! I don't feel sixteen, however. I still feel like I'm supposed to be having American Girl Doll birthday parties! (Seriously, every birthday party I had for a while was themed a different American Girl Doll.)    M y dad and I drove to the DMV this morning to get the restrictions on my license lifted. Yay! This evening, my mom and I are planning on going shopping and having dinner together. I can't wait! 😊     In the past, I've had some interesting birthdays.  I was sick on the day of my third birthday party.  For my eleventh and thirteenth birthdays, we moved to new houses. On the weekend of my twelfth birthday, we adopted my two little brothers! On my fifteenth birthday, my little brother tested positive for COVID-19. This birthday has been great! Nobody's sick, we aren't moving, and I've been able to spend it with my favorite people: my family!      FYI, today's also my dad's birthday, but he...
