Welcome to 'The Lowcountry Ruby!'

 Proverbs 31:10

"An excellent woman, who can find? For her worth is far more than rubies."

This is what I want to be. I want to grow up to be a God-fearing, excellent, priceless woman. In order to be that, however, I need to be a God-fearing, excellent, priceless teenager. So that'll be my goal for right now.

Hi! My name is Alyssa Wells! I'm a Christian teenager living in the breath-taking lowcountry of South Carolina. Just in case you don't already know me, here are a few fun facts about me:

1.     I am Type 1 Diabetic, and have been for four years. This means that my pancreas doesn't produce the hormone insulin, which regulates the amount of glucose in my blood. As a result, I have an insulin pump, which is pretty much self-explanatory, as well as a continuous glucose monitor, which makes sure I have enough-but not too much-glucose in my blood.

Me and my little sis, Annie Grace. She's my best friend!

2.     I have three siblings: my sister and two brothers. I am so blessed to be their big sis!

My baby, Princess Noodles Evangeline.

3. I'm a cat mom. For an outside cat, my baby is pretty spoiled.

4. I'm a published children's book author. I've written a book titled "The Adventures of Princess Noodles: Noodles and the Secret," available here for purchase. (If this link doesn't work, let me know through the chat box and I'll send it to you.) I am also in the process of publishing a book titled "What True Friends Are For."

5. I'm homeschooled, a junior in high school to be exact. I LOVE school, and have a hard time picking a favorite subject. But, in the end, I think history and literature are my favs.

Now, onto the purpose of this blog. I know I'm imperfect. I'm a rotten, dirty, sinner. I fail God a lot.

However, God has implanted in me a love for writing, as well as a desire to encourage and inspire others. I know no better way of doing that than blogging! As some of you may know, I used to have a blog titled 'A Handmade Heart,' but it wasn't really ME. It was more of me seeing a crafty friend's blog and wanting to have one just like hers. However, I'm going into this blog with the goal of being honest, true-to-self, and encouraging. That's what any blog should be.

In closing, I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all as y'all ask questions and share your thoughts. I pray that you will be inspired, and that you'll see me as who I am: a dirty sinner who has been graciously cleansed by the one true God.

With His Love,

Alyssa
